Hi, I'm Emily.

I’m based in southeastern Connecticut, where I spend most of my time writing - as both a job and a hobby - and trying to keep up with a 17-year-old who’s getting ready to head off to college.

Outside of work, I’m a cinema dork (ask me about my Letterboxd Four), a trivia junkie, and a lifelong Red Sox fan. I love travel, great food, live music, and getting lost in a really good book. I’m also a former theater kid who somehow managed to raise another theater kid, which feels like a full-circle moment I didn’t see coming.

I don’t have any pets of my own, but I will absolutely want to pet your dog.

Most importantly, I’ve known I was a writer since I was seven years old, and I’ve never really wanted to be anything else.

I've always been
drawn to great stories...

Long before I understood storytelling as a craft - or a career - I was building them. As a kid, I created entire worlds with my sister and friends. We were scientists, spies, explorers, and superheroes. Everything became a narrative: trees turned into hideouts, bike rides became missions, and everyday life became something larger, richer, and more alive.

That instinct never really left.

Writing became my outlet early on, and by elementary school I was already finding ways to get my work “published” - whether it was handmade classroom books or an editorial poem on pollution that somehow made its way into the local newspaper. I learned quickly that stories don’t just entertain people; they connect them.

Like a lot of people, I didn’t take a perfectly straight path into writing. I explored education, studied English literature, and eventually stepped into a career that paid the bills more than it fulfilled the instinct I couldn’t ignore. But the thread of storytelling kept pulling me back.

After becoming a mother, I found myself reconnecting with that creative part of me in a new way. Watching my daughter’s imagination grow reminded me that storytelling isn’t something we outgrow - it’s something we carry. I started writing again, and what came out wasn’t just creativity returning, but clarity: this is how I think, how I process, and how I make sense of the world.

Today, I work as a brand storyteller and copywriter, helping organizations translate complex ideas into clear, human, and compelling narratives.

Whether I’m shaping brand voice, building campaign messaging, or developing long-form content, my goal is the same:

To show that every story is beautiful, unique, and worth telling, and to help translate what people carry into words that reflect their purpose, clarity, and intent.

Storytelling isn’t decoration. It’s connection.
And connection is what builds trust, loyalty, and lasting brands.

Why I'm Uniquely Suited to This Work

I pursued a degree in Anthropology because I’ve always been fascinated by people - what they value, how they communicate, and why certain stories stick while others don’t.

Studying culture and human behavior gave me a framework for something I had always understood intuitively: storytelling doesn’t just reflect culture, it shapes it.

It influences how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and what we believe is possible.

That perspective has made me a better writer - and a better marketer - because it taught me to look beyond what is being said and into why it matters.

Let's Connect!

If you’re looking for clearer storytelling in your brand, I’d love to hear from you.
